History

The name of the city literally refers to the “Lord of Lakshmi”. Tirupati has a great infrastructure and is situated at the foothills of Tirumala. These Tirumala hills are the most ancient rock mountains in India and are the second oldest of the world’s. Tamil literature talks about these hills. It is also considered the abode of Venkateshwar (Vishnu) and the Kaliyug Vaikuntha. It is an important place for the Vaishavas.

Puttaparty is famously known because of the reason that it is the residence of Bhagwan Shri Satya Sai Baba. Otherwise Puttaparty was a mere village but now it has got national as well as International fame. It is situated on the southern-western part of the Andhra Pradesh. Puttaparty is a beautiful natural place enclosed by rocky and arid hills that border Karnataka.

Tourist Places at Tirupati

Tirupati is situated in the southern part of the Andhra Pradesh with an average elevation of almost 51 feet. It is a place close to nature and the Tirumala hill is 3200 ft above the sea level. It includes the seven famous peaks – Venkatadri, Garudadri, Neeladri, Seshadri, Anjanadri, Narayandri, and Vrishabhadri. You can enjoy the view of these peaks. Besides that, being a religious place there are a number of popular temples in Tirupati that should be visited. Some of these are Kodanda Rama Swamy Temple, Govindaraja Swamy Temple, Padmavati Temple, Tirumala Venkateshwar Temple, Sri Kapileshwaraswami Temple, Sri Veda Narayanaswami Temple, Sri Chennakeshavaswami Temple, Tallapaka, Sri Annapurna Sameta Kashi Vishweshwaraswami Temple, Bugga Agraharam, Sri Kariyamanikyaswami Temple, Nagiri, Nagalapuramand Alamelu Mangamma Shrine in Alamelumangapuram that is also known as Thiruchanoor.

Tourist Places in Puttaparty

The main attraction of Puttaparty is the Sai Baba ashram, called the Prasanthi Nilayam. It is a huge complex that can accommodate hundreds of people who come to visit Sai Baba. The ashram also has canteen, museum library and other shops. And people need to go through a long queue to attend the meetings with the Sai Baba. The other tourist places outside this ashram are Satyabhama Temple, the village mosque, Sri Raju Kalyana Madapam, Kalpa Vriksha, Chitravati River, Hanuman Swami temple, and the birthplace of Bhagwan Sai.

Culture

Tirupati has an amalgamation of tradition and modernism. Here, you can find people still roaming in the tradition attire of chira, lungi and pancha and also the modern dresses as well. Similarly, when it comes to celebrating the festivals, people of Tirupati celebrate all the major festivals of the Vaishnavas. However, the two most important festivals celebrated in this area constitute of the annual Braham-mahotsava and the local festival Gangamma Jathra. Additionally, you can find the latest modes of entertainment also.

On the other hand, Puttaparty celebrates the birthday of Sri Sai baba with great enthusiasm. For them this is their festival and the place is of course famous because of Baba’s ashram only.

Tirupati and Puttaparty are mainly religious places that are visited basically for the spiritual reasons. Nevertheless, the traditions of the local people and the architecture of the ancient shrines add to the charm of both these places and attract more tourists.

Tour Day 01 Arrive Delhi

On arrival at Delhi airport or railway station, our representative will be waiting for you with a sign board bearing your name and you will be transferred to the hotel. Tour Day 02 City Tour of Delhi

This morning after breakfast first you will visit old Delhi. The Raj Ghat, Red fort & Jama Masjid are important places to visit, you may also visit Chandni Chowk, spice market etc. Later on proceed to visit the New Delhi. The Qutub Minar, tallest stone tower in India, imposing India Gate and the Rastrapathi Bhawan, Laxmi Narayan Temple, Lotus Temple and, newly built Akshardham temple are of much significance. By evening return to your hotel for overnight stay.

Tour Day 03 Delhi to Jaipur

This morning after breakfast you will drive to the pink city of Jaipur, On arrival check into your hotel and rest of the day is at leisure. Stay overnight at hotel in Jaipur.

Tour Day 04 Jaipur City Tour

This morning after breakfast visit the Amber fort, built in 16th century, enjoy an elephant ride at Amber. Drive past the Hawa Mahal-a Palace of winds. In the afternoon you will visit the city palace and museum, walk to adjacent Jantar Mantar an astronomical observatory. Rest of the evening is at leisure. Stay overnight at hotel in Jaipur.

Tour Day 05 Jaipur to Agra

This morning after breakfast you will drive to Mughal city Agra and check into your hotel. Enroute you will visit the Fatehpur Sikri, the deserted red sandstone city built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar. Rest of the day is free at your leisure. Overnight at hotel.

Tour Day 06 Agra-Visit to Tajmahal & Transfer to Delhi

This Morning after breakfast visit the Agra fort, built by the great Emperor Akbar, and the famous Taj Mahal-the symbol of love, built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. You may also visit Dayal Bagh. By evening you will be transferred back to Delhi. Overnight at hotel.

Tour Day 07 Delhi to Chennai by Flight

This morning you will be transferred to Delhi airport to take a flight to Chennai. On arrival at Chennai airport pick up and transfer to hotel. Rest of the day is free at your leisure. Overnight at hotel.

Tour Day 08 Chennai City Tour & Proceed to Tirupati Balaji

After Breakfast leave for sightseeing of Chennai, the first British major settlement in India. Visit Kapleshwara temple, St. Thomas Church, Art Gallery, St. George Fort & Marina beach (2nd longest beach of the world after California). Later this evening proceed to Tirupati Balaji, a four hrs drive from Chennai. Overnight at hotel in Tirupati.

Tour Day 09 Tirupati Balaji Darshan & drive to Puttaparthy

This morning proceed to Tirupati Balaji Temple and after having “DARSHAN” back to your hotel. After lunch proceed to Puttaparthy. Overnight at Puttaparthy.

Tour Day 10 Puttaparthy-Sai Baba Darshan & Transfer to Bangalore.
